Reader Mary Pat asked Decorating Den:

“In what room of my house should I place/hang family photographs without detracting from my Asian-traditional decorating style? (TV room, Dining Room, Bedroom, Guest room, entry way).”

Stratford Interior Designer Beki Lemke from Decorating Den offered this advice:
When family photographs are used in an entry or hallway, I prefer to use a mix of frame styles and colors. Family photo’s are always welcomed in any room in my designs as long as they are displayed properly. The entry is an introduction to your home when your guest arrive, so make it memorable.

For a more traditional feel in the main area of your home use one unified color with clean simple lines whether hung on your walls or displayed on a shelf.
